The Great NYS Fair
Today we all went to the fair, a great summer tradition, and had a ton of fun.
There was a game that was won by catching a shark.....so of course we had to play. Patrick managed to get a few rides in beforehand though.....Elizabeth was having some issues riding. She was literally a 1/4 inch below the 36 inch cut off. We encountered quite a few carnies taking their job VERY seriously who would not allow her on their rides. She was a good sport and watched Patrick. We were more concerned about the $20 we spent on her all day ride stamp.
Finally Elizabeth was able to get on a ride....and lots after that. Look at what a coaster pro she is!
The dinos are always a big hit....even though no one has figured out how to make them go up and down yet.
On the kids second "roller coaster" Patrick jumped into big brother duty. The dragon went a bit faster than the alligator and freaked Elizabeth out. In the beginning of the ride she was crying, but after Pat's reassurance, she was all smiles by the end.
Patrick LOVED the motorcycles.....oh no, I don't know if I could ever handle the worry of a motorcycle.
The Caterpillar and the Worm was a big hit. First choice of where to sit meant right behind the caterpillar's head.
To our surprise, both kids loved the Kangaroo.....a ride that brings you up and then "drops" you down.
We got inside just as heavy rain started coming and even managed to get some seats at a table. What a perfect time for ice cream and Mommy's annual Fair ice cream pictures.
Patrick didn't have the usual chocolate.....opted for yummy vanilla this time. And he did a great job eating his cone. I think this was the neatest he has ever eaten ice cream. He must be growing up.
Elizabeth had black raspberry......not for the flavor, but because it is pink.
Gotta love Byrne Dairy ice cream. It tastes even better at the fair,
Elizabeth was certainly pooped when we came home. She fell asleep in the car and then curled up right there on the counter when we sat her down to take her shoes off. Must be the sign of a fun day.

Os-we-go......
.....into the wild blue yonder (as my Mom used to sing). Today we went to Oswego to relive old memories and eat at Rudy's. Mom and Dad tried to figure out how to have Sub Shop and Rudy's in one trip....but settled just for Rudy's.
Of course, after we ate it was time to throw rocks in the lake.
Patrick taking a breather from the intense rock toss. We were encouraging him to throw the rocks like baseballs, not sidearm. His side arm is more across body and there were swimmers in the water.
We stopped at Gamma Park to go on the play ground before our ride home. I captured Patrick hiding (the playground is like a castle and he was hiding from the dragon, or something). Hiding, just like his mom used to there!

ADKventures
We had a great camping night on Friday....until bed, which was a bit unsettling for Elizabeth. On Saturday we headed to Bald Mountain, hike to the summit, grab some ice cream in Old Forge, ran around the playground at the campground, and swam in the river. It was a great day.
Daddy and Sissy were a great hiking pair, especially on the steep, narrow rocks.
Davis and his ride, Uncle John.
Time for a snack! We'll need lots of energy to make it back down the mountain.
On top of Bald Mountain there is a fire watch tower. Of course, Patrick and I had to climb it. I managed to get my hand off the railing long enough to snap a quick picture.
The view of the family from atop the fire tower.
Adventurous Patrick walking way too fast down the tall tower.
Dad trying to rationalize why Mom needs to take so many pictures. Patrick isn't hearing it.
Patrick and his walking stick. Mom liked walking with it more than he did. His motivation was having a giant stick to poke the fire with.
I am trying to get a picture with the three kids and the scenery. I think Leah is really awake.....just taking a John moment.
This is Sissy's hiking style. Later she will becoming shirtless and crying, but still carried.
The view from atop Bald Mountain.
Hikin' Gallauresi's.
The aftermath of the hike - hot, tired, and headed for ice cream.
Our camping neighbors were cleaning out their camper and they gave us three toddler chairs. The kids loved them.
Daddy, the camp cooking fool. Like the Dora tablecloth in the back. Classy, huh?
This is Patrick's what-do-you-mean-I-can't-walk-around-with-a-giant-blazing-stick face. What else am I supposed to do with this big stick??
We had a great time with the best choice of people around. Can't wait for next years camping adventure.

Enchanted Forest - WATER SAFARI.....
....you know the rest! We headed to Old Forge this weekend with Uncle John, Aunt Heather, Leah and Davis to go to Enchanted Forest and camp for the weekend.
It was advertised that Diego would be visiting the park today.....and we accosted him. Poor guy was resting because it was probably 1000 degrees in his suit. Some lady was trying to lead him away to get a drink......but we snuck in to do our high five's and give hugs.
My kids just loved the Crocked Man's house.......which is perfect.
This is one of many attempts on our trip to get the kids to pose for a picture. Pretty silly considering they are 4, 3, 2, and 1.
Miss Cinderella on her way to the ball.
Leah was beautifully playing Mary Quite Contrary's bells.
Patrick decided it was much easier, louder and more fun to just push the very heavy metal bells together. Luckily, there were no hands, feet, heads, etc. in the way, because we didn't look.
I don't know what is more fitting for this crew....Three Blind Mice....or, Hear No Evil, See No Evil, Speak No Evil.
CANDY.....and, oh, there's a witch inside......but look, CANDY!
Elizabeth got such a kick out of trying to put Daddy into the fire intended for Hanzel and Gretel.....she does make a good witch.
Again, trying to get the four four and unders to pose for a picture. Whatever.
Tryin' not to fall like Humpty Dumpty, yet insisting on sitting on the same wall.
This is it for pictures from the day. From here it was off to lunch and then the water rides. Being that it was so crowded and I had no stroller ('cause we're past that :( ) the camera went in the locker. We had a blast on the water rides. Patrick's big accomplishment was conquering the "big" water slides........a five lane under 48 inches slide. He loved it and must have gone down 25 times. Elizabeth tried the slide, but never made it down :)
