Happy Birthday Pop Pop!

To celebrate Pop Pop's 72nd birthday we headed to Geneva to have a cook out. It was a hot day so Pop Pop and Grandma suggested we go Seneca Lake State Park to go to the spray park and play on the playground. It was the best place (over-looking the E-coli scare they had there a couple of years back). We will definitely be heading back there this summer.

Patrick and Elizabeth loved the surprises of the sprinkler's popping on and off.

Here's Patrick waiting for the spray to come in his face......a glutton for punishment.
And there's the punishment!
After the spray park we went over to playground which was filled with great climbers.....out favorite.

After the spray and play fun we headed back to Pop Pop's for a cook out, presents and a birthday treat.
Of course Pat and Liz helped open presents!
And, of course, Pop Pop was Pop Pop!
And Daddy was Daddy......shoving paper down Pat's shirt!
Patrick and Elizabeth drew Pop Pop some special birthday pictures. He was impressed!
So the birthday treat was homemade strawberry ice cream! And sugar cookies. It was delicious. Thanks Grandma.
Miss Elizabeth was especially thrilled........the ice cream was PINK!!

What A Sight!

Elizabeth was all dressed up for her bike ride tonight.......
in her precious pink tutu. What else would you wear to a after dinner bike ride?? Looked awesome with her lime green play shorts all bunched up underneath!

What a goof-ball Miss Elizabeth!
Patrick had a great time riding his bike too. He is getting great at it.......which he keeps pointing out and then asking for a skateboard.

Beatin' The Heat

As I was making dinner and lunches for tomorrow in the kitchen, Brian was manning the grill and entertaining the kids. Our pool isn't open and the hose is still in the shed from the winter so this was the only way for the kids to cool down.
Elizabeth called me outside to tell me how much fun they were having.
Must have been cold water in that bottle!
I got called away from making dinner again. This time Elizabeth told me they had made a water park!

Soccer

After missing the first week and going to the wrong park initially, we finally made it to Patrick's first day of Spring soccer. He said he had fun.....playing with his hands in his pockets......

Megan is also "on the team". And so is her friend Tory.....so we have fun people to talk too while the kids play :)
The kids did all kinds of drills and had a little one on one game at the end. There was lots of variety and they didn't ever complain of being bored.

Patrick's professional stance.

Hanging with Mom

While playing tonight Patrick set up ALL of his dinosaurs. Daddy was at gold league tonight so we had to take a picture to show him. (Mom can't let go and allow all those dinosaurs to stay set up all night)

Elizabeth just wanted a photo shoot :)

Elizabeth the Turtle Tot

Tonight was Elizabeth's last swim lesson at Capocc......it is really sad that they are closing. I guess I am glad that a YMCA is coming, in a year and a half, but still sad that the community pool has to close. Since it was Daddy's turn to go with her Pat and I tagged along for a few minutes to snap some pictures.
Brian probably wont appreciate this picture but I think Liz looks soooo cute. Waiting patiently for attendance.
Getting used to the water. Once she is used to it she is a regular fish.
Showing off her kick board skills.
And, of course, having a ton of fun with Daddy!

Snuggle Bugs

After all our Mother's Day adventures we arrived home, full from a great dinner and well rested from a car nap. After a bath we all snuggled on the couch for our favorite Sunday night ritual.......America's Funniest Home Videos. Perfect end to a perfect day.

Mother's Day

So instead of taking the kids to brunch and making them sit for a long time we decided it would be more fun to do something the kids would enjoy. Patrick has been reminding us that we have not been to the Strong Museum of Play in a while, so that is where we headed.

I was kinda of sad that the kids weren't too interested in Sesame Street. They are growing up too fast! We didn't even go into Elmo's World! They did like the music pipes though.
Elizabeth was very interested in learning to play chess.
After Sesame Street we headed to Wegman's so the kids could pretend to shop just like Mommy. They were so cute picking out their goods and checking out.

What a cute Wegman's girl!
Patrick and Elizabeth spent a lot of time playing in the Lego land.

Here we go......off to see the Super Hero hall.
Isn't this the best face. Patrick was being "radiated" just like the Hulk. He was so serious every time he did it!
All it took to have super strength was some good old gamma radiation. Pat was amazed that he could lift the big pillar.
Elizabeth was into the super hero section too. She loved the pictures of Batgirl and Wonder Woman. Actually, I enjoyed Wonder Woman. Made me remember my underoos from when I was five! Elizabeth like the Whack a Villan a lot too.
Patrick trying out his Spider man skills. Not bad, huh?
Pat pulled his hardest. Camelot is not ours. Darn. Guess he should stick to being a super hero.
Patrick writing a "secret" message on the pirate ship.
So after you write your message you have to send it off. There was another kid on the other end but they weren't as into the messages as we were.
Trying out the chess thing again :)
I was trying to recreate a picture I have of Elizabeth from when she is little that I love. Didn't work so well.
It was a great day. Aren't they just the cutest??? Off to explore. After the museum we went to Dinosaur BBQ (in Rochester) for dinner and then headed home to snuggle. I love every second of my Mother's Day!
