I am not sure how it happened, but I have totally slacked on the family blog for months! I lie, I do know what happened........we had an incredibly hectic and busy Spring. All of us. There was little time to keep up with day to day stuff, much less blog. In the mean time, Blogger changed there format and I don't have it down just yet. This post includes some of the highlights from the Spring. Patrick won honorable mention in a newspaper writing and cartoon contest. He was invited to an awards ceremony held at Henninger of all places and received a certificate. His whole class entered the contest and a lot of winners were chosen from his class. I don't think we have ever been prouder of Patrick!
He wasn't really excited about wearing "fancy pants" or having his picture taken. We tried to trap the tricky leprachauns that make their way to our house every year. Our trap was quite elaborate. We no luck though. They still got into the house, took all the chocolate coins we left out, dyed our milk green, turned all the pictures upside down, and peed in our toilet - they left green pee and green feet prints on the seat!
Parade day was beautiful and warm and sunny. We watched the parade with Will and Sarah Jane and then headed to their house for a party after wards. Can you believe we all have short sleeve shirts on?
March means Daddy and Grandpa's birthday!!
Of course we died Easter eggs.
And got all dolled up to go to Pop Pop's, after we found out how much the Easter Bunny spoiled us.
Patrick has become really into basketball this year. He loves playing and dreams of being in the NBA one day.
One of the nice warm days we headed to the zoo. It is still a favorite. I really think we have been there close to 100 times. Liz was eager to pose. Pat, not so much.
But I caught him on the Tiger Trail.
We got a Pogo Stick!!
KCH has a contest for all the first graders. They have to read 100 books. Pat was one of the first to finish in his class and got a certificate and funny story book as a reward.
Instead of playing for Geddes baseball Pat switched to the Marcellus league. He had a great time and had some fun kids on his team. Dad helped to coach too.
Liz's dance class did a ballet dance in the recital this year to the song "Let's All Live Peacefully".
Ready to take their places!
Waiting for the cue from Miss. Nicole to dance. The girls did a great job!
I was invited to Elizabeth's class for a Mother's Day Tea. It was one of the best moments of my life! The kids made special books, sang lots of Mother's Day songs, and made the moms cry. Including me!
I received all these gifts from Elizabeth!
For Mother's Day we went on a garden walk at Sycamore Hills. I was floored that something this gorgeous is right up the road. There were all kinds of beautiful gardens and fun things to play with........like gongs, a maze, a tower, and beautiful pond.
My lovies :)
There were lots of lion statues.
First water fight of the season!!
Patrick liked playing first base. He did a great job as catcher too!
Is it a whopper??
I went with Patrick's class on a field trip to Hospital Land to learn about what happens when you have to go to the hospital. The following Monday Patrick had his tonsils removed so he was picked as the patient. His buddy Jonas was his Dad and friend Mary was his Mom. All his classmates help with every step of the process.
Here he is being wheeled to his "room".
Ready for surgery. The kids had fun and were very well behaved. I am so glad I got the opportunity to go and participate with Patrick.
This is one of Patrick's pieces of art work that was in the school art show.
We hung out with our cousins for Old Home Days - our favorite day in the park.
May brings Pop Pop's birthday and a yummy strawberry dessert!
