An Apple A Day

Sunday was our annual trip to Beak and Skiff to pick apples. We have enough to give away, eat for weeks, and make lots of sweets. The kids had loads of fun in the orchard, picking lots of apples, throwing them in the bag and snacking away. Patrick made a friend, Dillon, who is the grandson of a woman I work with.

After picking time we saw all the other cool things that are there, like a Jack-o-lantern bouncey house, goats that climb onto the roof of their shelter, and the pony rides. We bumped into lots of people we know which always seems to happen there.....it's a fun place. Before we left we made sure to have snack of apple cider donuts and apple cider. The cider from Beak and Skiff is the best around.
In his three years of riding these ponies, this is the first smile I have ever seen. Usually Patrick has his serious concentration face on. He must be growing up. Elizabeth tried out a pony but ended up in tears. We cheered from the sideline. Maybe next year.
