LUNGevity Walk
Aunt Jaime organized a team to walk in the LUNGevity walk in honor of Cheryl, so Patrick, Elizabeth, and I headed out to walk with the team. Brian was doing his own version of good deeds by playing in a charity golf tournament. We got to Long Branch Park ready to walk and excited to see our family. It was a beautiful day too, which made it all the better.
On your marks, get set.........wait a minute. The race can not begin until all walkers are ready to walk, meaning.....hands out of your pants. Nice, this is my son, or should I say Brian's son, at the starting line for the walk.
Patrick and Megan started off with a bang....they wanted to run! Peg and I kept up with a nice speed walk. The run lasted about 1/4 mile, and then Patrick was DONE. I think I promised Pat everything under the sun if he would just keep walking. I don't know what I was thinking, not bringing the double stroller. I guess I just thought he was older than he actually is. Well, Patrick became very slow, dragging his feet and even sitting in protest quite often. I killed my back with all the carrying, piggy backing and shoulder riding I did. The kid weighs more than 40 pounds. We didn't even make the turn. We sat and waited for Aunt Jaime who was pushing Sissy. For a while Pat and Sis rode in the stroller together but then Pat was back in my arms.

Elizabeth had fun walking with Aunt Jaime, Linda, and her new friend Chrissy.
OMG - Patrick and Mommy are dead last. Yes, Patrick and I were the last two people in the walking portion of the race. The only reason we were even able to get across the parking lot to the finish line was because I bribed Patrick with a Build a Bear. At least Daddy had fun golfing......by himself!
