Hanging with Uncle Strapper
Today we went to a BBQ at "Uncle Strapper's" house.....a nice visit with an out of town friend. There wasn't much for the kids to do, and just when it seemed like 5 little break downs were on the horizon.......
Josh's mom broke out the sprinkler! All was saved!! The kids had a blast getting soaked. Patrick was gung ho, running right through the middle of the water.
Elizabeth was a little more cautious and hung around the outside. She did try drinking quite a bit from the sprinkler though.
Patrick gave Davis some good "man advice". Sorry Davis......and Aunt Heather and Uncle John.
Elizabeth and Leah loved palling around with each other, as usual. They are such good friends :)

Timmy's Rainy Graduation
Today cousin Timmy graduated from high school and had a great celebration afterwards.
Before we left the house, Patrick and Elizabeth (mostly for Elizabeth) were practicing how to say Congratulations. They were doing it with such enthusiasm. I don't think either told Timmy the actual word, but they sure were cute practicing.
The kids had LOTS of great treats there......M&M's, Ludden Half Moons, cake, and chocolate covered strawberries....YUM!
Unfortunately, today was a rainy day......all day. The rain didn't bother the kids though.....actually it just gave them more to play with, PUDDLES! Aunt Di, always prepared, had fun outdoor toys even for the little ones!
I think we were able to wring out Patrick's shirt by the time he took it off. He didn't care one bit that he was soaked to the bone.
Look at the cute Louer cousins. Sissy did a great job keeping up with her older cousins Sara Jane and Megan.
Here are the girls making silly faves at the guest of honor. Congratulations T-T!

Westside Picnic
Patrick's last day of this school year was Tuesday and today was the fun and famous Westside Picnic. The kids had a blast playing in the new playground and with all the other neat things they had outside.
Patrick spent a ton of time on the rope swing and in the giant sand pit.

Flight of the Butterflies
We've kept the butterflies in captivity for too long......tonight was a nice night for a butterfly flight.
So why wont they leave? Apparently the sugar coated cottonballs we give them are more exciting than the flowers surrounding the deck. Go figure!
Even with the kids huffing and puffing, they still hung on.
But look what happened overnight when they were in nature.....holy cow. Must be the miracle grow I feed the flowers! Just kiddin'.......the kids and I spotted this moth on the molding on our outside door and I am just amazed by its size....this was a good excuse for me to share.

Up, Up, and Away
The best thing to do on a beautiful Sunday evening is hang on a blanket, eat a hotdog and watch hot air balloons float by!
After Mom and Dad worked all day around the yard, we decided that we should head to Balloonfest in Jamesville. What a fun night it turned out to be.
We set up our blanket right by the main stage and enjoyed the great music while we were waiting for the balloons to launch. Elizabeth had a blast dancing, dancing, dancing.
Both kids tired themselves out by running all over. Their favorite was running and crashing into Mommy.
And then it was time for all the balloons to fly off. The kids loved seeing them rise above the trees and speed off into the clouds.
We even got to see two close up as they were filled and took off. The kids got to touch them as they were inflated and felt the heat from the flames as they were taking off. It was super cool.

Walking With Dinosaurs
Tonight we surprised Patrick with a trip to see "Walking With Dinosaurs", an arena show that was playing at the Blue Cross Arena all weekend. Brian and I managed to keep the secret all week - very hard - with intentions of not telling him until it started. We caved in the car.
Excited Patman waiting for the show to start. We had awesome seats.....three rows up from where the dinosaurs were walking around!
I tried to take a lot of pictures. They ask you not to, so I had to be sneaky. It was awfully dark, so many didn't come out. I am not so great with the slower shutter speeds.....shaky hands make for blurry pictures. Here's the stegauarus peeking through some of the vegetation from the Jurassic period.
There were two brachisaurus's in the show. The biggest was 72 feet long. He just cleared the speakers at the arena's ceiling!
And our favorite - he closed the show - T-Rex. I thought Pat was going to jump right out of his chair with excitement when this pair appeared.

True Carnies
Because we couldn't get enough, it was back to the Old Home Days carnival on Sunday afternoon!
Muscleman Pat, with a little help from Dad, "won" a prize. The reality of it is if you pay enough money you can get certain prizes.
Our newest addition.....a blow up Spiderman. Pat sleeps with it and totes it all around the house.
Then it was off to go on more rides.....particularly to hit the ones we didn't on Saturday. Pat had a blast on the swings.
We were able to con a carny (I love that word) into letting Elizabeth, just shy of the 36 inch height requirement, to go on the Circus Train with her brother.
Before we headed home we found a spot on a rock by the creek to watch our two ducks lose the duck race. Oh well, maybe next year :)

A Taste of Syracuse?
Old Home Days
We headed down to the village of Marcellus for the Old Home Days parade....a personal favorite. I always get a kick out of seeing all the tractors driving down the street. The kids were excited for the parade. Elizabeth bopped to all the bands, waved at lots of firemen, and screamed "Hi" to the parade participants.
We watched right at the end of the parade route...close to where we were able to park. It really was a lot of fun.
Of course, the real fun was all the free candy. You would think there wouldn't be that much at the end of the parade route.....NO WAY. Patrick has become quite good at unwrapping things. Great!
Elizabeth's little pockets were full, thanks to the two teenagers who were sitting next to her and giving her all the candy that they caught. The price of having such a cutey-pa-tootie little girl!
After the parade we checked out the carnival and bought our ducks for the duck race on Sunday. Patrick loved the roller coaster, even doing "no hands". Sissy would have loved it too, but she was just shy of the height requirement.
There was no requirement for the carousel, so that had to do for this year.
Before we headed off, Daddy had to stop to get a strawberry shortcake. It was delicious, atleast the one bite he gave each of us :)
