Big Trucks
Today we headed to Saunders Quarry for "Big Trucks". We had so much fun last year it was a definite this year. Great rainy weather for the few days before made it even more appealing!
First this we hit were the biggest trucks......the huge dump truck and the bull-dozer.
Patrick drivin'....looks like an old pro, huh?
Elizabeth thought it was fun to climb way up high and pretend to drive the trucks. She did it all by herself.
So, the bottom of the quarry was muddy.....all the rain we had this week and it is the bottom of a hole. It wasn't long into our visit that the kids found a mud puddle. They weren't into stomping in it like they were last year......matured??
Nope.....just intrigued by a different dirt. The sand pile. We spent a long time on the sand pile this year. Patrick and Sissy played together for a little while....then they found their own adventures. Don't you love my little kings/queens of the mountain??
Of course the best thing about the sand pile was looking for jewels.....Patrick found a diamond! And, getting buried. Daddy, Sarah Jane, Elizabeth, and Will did a great job of burying Patrick.
There were all kinds of treats for us too. We had popcorn with our dirty hands and held balloons for a nano-second before we watched them sail out of the quarry.
How many Louer's can you fit in a tractor?? Four, as long as they are little!
We loved hiding under the blades of the big plow trucks. It is just like being in a cave.
And then there was more mud. Elizabeth got her boot stuck and went right down on her tush. Thought for sure she'd cry but she just pried herself loose and went on her muddy way.
On her muddy way to dancing on the bug boulders! There was a kid DJ....which means Elizabeth was dancin'!
Elizabeth didn't seem to mind her wet, muddy tush.......as long as you are having fun, right?? We can't wait until next year. It is our favorite messy thing to do!
