It's Magic Kingdom Day! Hip Hip Hooray!!!! We are excellent Disney travelers. We were up early again, had a nice breakfast at the hotel and then we were off on the bus, at the park before it opened. We even have a great routine getting into the park.......Brian takes all the bags to be searched, I push Liz and Patrick pushes his empty stroller through the initial gate.

Summer Vacation - Day #58 Magic Kingdom
The picture below belongs later in this post. Make note of it.
Isn't this a great picture??

Not quite ready for a picture.
This was taken by a random lady. Wish she told me to sit up more. Our plan for the park today is to do Fantasyland and Tomorrowland. We will be back here in two days, so we can do the other parts of the park then. Brian was going to blast ahead of us to get Fast Passes for Space Mountain. I had to get a locker to put our swim bag, so we would all hook up in the park. When we got into the park I hugged the right side of Main Street, near the movie theater so that the kids couldn't see Cinderella's Castle. When it was time to turn the corner I told Liz "Surprise!" and she let out the cutest little gasp. My heart just melted. Both kids were thrilled to see the castle. Patrick immediately asked me how tall it was because he is very into how tall things are. Liz rambled on and on about Cinderella and the Princesses. With that we were off. Our first ride was Buzz Light Year. It is a ride similar to Toy Story Mania where you have a shooter and you shoot things for points. It was really fun. Patrick and I went to ride Space Mountain, where there was no line, but we never made it. He was a little scared, especially when he asked how fast it went and the lady replied 30 mph. In Pat's head that is REALLY fast. Brian and Liz went on Stitch ride which freaked her right out. We were in need of some quiet, so we went on the People Mover. We were on it a couple times during the day. It is a good break spot. From that we could see the race cars, so that is where we headed next.
The attendant gave Liz a driver's license. She held it the whole time she was "driving" and kept giggling about being a crazy driver.
We ventured in the rocket ride above People Mover. Patrick was hesitant about the elevator, even though it was just used to go up. There were great views from the ride and Patrick and I enjoyed looking all around the park. Liz and Dad took the "low" road. Brian is a little afraid of heights. Next was Laugh Floor. I LOVED this show. I was laughing so hard that I was crying, making no noise, just shaking, and had an ugly laugh face going. I wish we saw it again so I could remember some of the jokes. Brian went ahead to grab fast passes for Peter Pan and the kids and I meandered along. A highlight was a talking, moving robot trash can. It looked like any other trash can but moved and interacted with passers by. Pat thought it was so cool and very inquisitively tried to figure out how it worked.
First ride you come across when you cross over into Fantasyland are the Tea Cups. The kids and I loved riding them.
It was a special ride around because Alice and the rabbit were on the ride. I secretly wished they rode with us :) Alice is one of my favorite movies.
Patrick and Elizabeth wanted to go as fast as we could. They were pretty strong and got us going really well.
Posing so pretty. I tried to get Liz to wait in line to meet the real Alice, but she wasn't into it. Neither Patrick or Elizabeth were really into meeting all the characters that we saw along the way. It was nice not to wait in line in the heat to meet them. Neither of them asked about autograph books either. Something we can save for our next trip. It is nice to already have excuses to come back :)
Walt Disney World is expanding Fantasyland. There will all kinds of new rides in the area where 2000 Leagues Under the Sea and Mickey's Town were. There will be a ride dedicated to Beauty and the Beast and Liz was so excited to see the billboard advertising it. Behind the wall we could see the Beast's castle high on a cliff.
Belle is Elizabeth's favorite which I think is soooo appropriate. They have very similar personalities. Thanks for giving us another excuse to come back real soon Disney!!
We rode all the rides in Fantasyland except for Snow White. I don't know why, but we never got to it. Both kids were very enthusiastic about riding Dumbo - too cool. I know this isn't the greatest picture of Brian and Patrick, but I like it because you can see the castle so well behind them.
Dumbo is another one of my all time favorite Disney movies, so we had to pose by the Dumbo bush.
We planned that everyday should include some kind of break for us because it was so hot and humid. It took a long time to get from Magic Kingdom to our hotel so today we packed a swim bag and the plan was to scam our way into the Grand Floridian or Polynesian for a swim in their pool. It would be much faster due to the monorail. We got to the Polynesian, found a bathroom, got changed into our suits, and as the kids were walking to the really cool volcano pool the guards pulled everyone out due to lightening. And then the heavens opened. We got everyone changed back into clothes and went to hang in the lobby, because now it was way to wet to do anything else. The Kids Staff at the Polynesian brought out a huge bin of activities and set up right in front of us. They had games, every Disney character imaginable to color, and even magnets the kids could color. Both kids had a blast. Pat did a fantastic picture of Woody and, of course, the Lion King. Liz hammed it up for both of the staff members and had one girl coloring a magnet for Liz to take home. When the rain let up we headed back for more Magic!
The storm did something to the monorail so we took a boat back to the Magic Kingdom. It was just as fun.
Every hour or so there is a birthday (40th) celebration on the steps of Cinderella's Castle. It had just started when we arrived back.
Minnie, Mickey, Goofy and Donald get down with some of the Princesses and their Princes.
The host and hostess :)
And at the end of the show they set of some fireworks - during the day! Only in Disney World!!
Today is the day that the rest of the Louer's arrived from Cocoa Beach. Their plan was to head to the Magic Kingdom after they got settled. They got caught out in the rain :( Uncle Dan had promised Elizabeth that he would ride the Tea Cups with her, so that is where we all met up.
Liz and Megan had so much fun with Uncle Dan.
We hung out for a while with everyone. Casey took our Fast Passes and tool Patrick on Space Mountain. He didn't leave Casey at the gate! The Louer's went to ride Splash Mountain before leaving for dinner. We'll see them again tomorrow.
While waiting for Casey and Patrick, Elizabeth and I had to ride Cinderella's Carousel.
When we were rejoined by Patrick we all went on Peter Pan and Winnie the Pooh.
Just being goofy before going to dinner.
We were supposed to go to dinner at the Liberty Tree Tavern. They were behind a half hour, which meant we wouldn't eat until about 8:30, so we decided to go have dinner at the hotel. On our way we had to try out the gallows. I love how their faces looks so sad. Appropriate.
Our last detail on our way out of the park was a family picture in front of the Castle. It looked so pretty because the sun was going down and then sun was hitting it just right. We don't look to bad for having such a long and hot day. It's the Magic of Disney.
